Andak Stage Company announces its thirteenth production--and its eighth world premiere in this its fourth season--a modern rhyming verse translation of Lope de Vega's Romeo and Juliet play, The Capulets and the Montagues. The production will be directed by Anne McNaughton and will feature a new translation by four-time-award-winning translator Dakin Matthews.

With its hilarious exchanges, high-brow pedigree, brisk direction, and impressively gorgeous set, South Coast Repertory's new revival of George Bernard Shaw's classic comedy MISALLIANCE-with performances continuing through October 10-is one sophisticated delight, a witty set of back-and-forth arguments punctuated by a plethora of very charming, winning performances. Beginning July 29, The Antaeus Company will add Thursday night performances for its fully double-cast production of King Lear, and the run will extend through August 15.
The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s classical theater ensemble, continues ClassicsFest 2010 with an invigorating 'summer splash' of actor-initiated workshops, readings, and special events. Audiences can choose from a veritable smorgasbord of the classics between July 6 and August 15 at the company's interim home, Deaf West Theatre in the NoHo Arts District. All readings and workshops are $10.
