The American Theatre Network is proud to announce the launch of Great Entertainers on Broadway, a new summer series of live performances by some of today's most talented and well known stage, television and cabaret entertainers. The series will be presented in late July and early August at the Times Square Arts Center (TSAC) in the heart of New York City's world famous theatre district.

With a title like Broadway Winners, and the simple concept of presenting songs from award-winning musicals (or songs that have won Grammys or Oscars in their own right), it's a fairly safe bet that a concert is going to be pretty damn great. And so it was at Town Hall on Monday, when Scott Siegel's Summer Cabaret Festival kicked off with the latest edition of the concert series. Directed by Alexander Gemignani and with musical direction by David Hahn, the concert focused on musical triumphs, and that sense of accomplishment carried across the evening as each song's pedigree was announced.

Great Entertainers on Broadway, a summer series of live performances scheduled for late July and early August at the Times Square Arts Center (TSAC) has been cancelled, it was announced today by Herbert G. Goldman, the series producer.

Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater has launched Summer Cinema at the Prince, a series of first-run features, movies with music, independent premieres, new documentaries, and special film events that will continue all summer long. Disney Pixar's 'Toy Story 3' kicked off the program on Friday, June 18, bringing Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and all the gang to Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts. 'Toy Story 3' show times will be Monday to Friday at 12:30, 3:00, 6:30 and 9:00 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30, 3:00, 5:30, 8:00 and 10:30 p.m.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, the 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, broke the house record at the Longacre Theatre last week for the third time. The show grossed $747,615.62 at the 1,057-seat playhouse for the week ending June 27, breaking its previous record of $687,824.90 for the week ending June 20.

PS_Classics_SONDHEIM_ON_SONDHEIM_20010101 As BroadwayWorld previously reported, PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, recorded the original Broadway cast album of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM on June 6th and 7th. The production, presented by Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director), began performances at Studio 54 on March 19th, opened officially on April 22nd and will close on June 27th. Today, it has been announced that the album will be available beginning August 31, 2010 in both online and retail outlets. The track list has now been unveiled on Amazon.com.
