54 Below has announced its schedule of performances for the coming week, featuring Sondheim Unplugged: The Final Season, Nicolas King, Hugh Panaro, Judy Wexler, Christine Pedi, and additional artists.

The lineup includes concerts, tribute performances, solo shows, and new musical works, with select performances also available via livestream.

FINAL SEASON! After fifteen glorious years as a celebrated New York City event (It’s a Hit!), the time has come to say Goodbye for Now to Sondheim Unplugged, created in 2010 by series creator and original host Phil Geoffrey Bond, who continues as Executive Producer. At the time of closing, Sondheim Unplugged will have played 150 performances in NYC and dozens more nationally, internationally, and for broadcast.

But Take the Moment, because We’re Still Here and Back in Business for six final Sondheim performances of the multiple award-winning series, featuring a rotating Company of Broadway performers. Long beloved by audiences of all levels of Sondheim familiarity, Sondheim Unplugged (2023 Grammy nominee for Outstanding Traditional Pop Vocal Album) features voices from theatre and cabaret, accompanied by piano only, exploring the work of Stephen Sondheim. Hosted by Rob Maitner and directed by Lucia Spina.

Music direction by Mark Mitchell.

Starring Britney Coleman, Leah Horowitz, Ramona Mallory, and Lucia Spina.

Also featuring Jon-Michael Reese, Michelle Dowdy, Lauren Maria Medina, Jordan Wolfe, and more to be announced.

54 SINGS Harry Styles – APRIL 27 AT 9:30PM

Harry Styles will not appear at this performance.

Back by popular demand, the music of Harry Styles returns to 54 Below for one night only. From “As It Was” and “Adore You” to “Sign of the Times” and “Kiwi,” the concert features Broadway performers interpreting songs from the artist’s catalogue. Produced by Linnae Medeiros.

Featuring Daniel Assetta, Caro Daye Attayek, Caden Brauch, Lauren Celentano, Nicci Claspell, Austin Colby, Joah Ditto, Josh Jordan, Hannah Kevitt, Jamie Martin Mann, Alejandro Mullerdahlberg, Gabriella Pizzolo, Mikayla Renfrow, Zalah Vallien, Wes Williams, and Khaila Wilcoxon.

Nicolas King: CELEBRATING THE MUSIC, MEMORY, & ARRANGEMENTS OF Mike Renzi – APRIL 28 AT 7PM

Nicolas King returns to 54 Below with a show honoring his longtime collaborator Mike Renzi on what would have been Renzi’s birthday. The two worked together for over a decade, performing internationally and recording multiple albums.

Mike Renzi, a seven-time Emmy Award winner and ten-time Grammy nominee, served as musical director for artists including Mel Tormé, Lena Horne, and Peggy Lee, and worked with performers such as Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, and Liza Minnelli.

King’s credits include Broadway’s A Thousand Clowns and Hollywood Arms, as well as television appearances on “The View,” “Today,” and “The Tonight Show.”

JUDY WEXLER: IT’S JAZZ. IT’S JOY. IT’S JUDY. – APRIL 28 AT 9:30PM

Judy Wexler makes her 54 Below debut in an evening of jazz standards and contemporary selections. Accompanied by pianist Jim Ridl and his trio, the program features arrangements from her Billboard and JazzWeek charting albums.

Her repertoire includes songs by Carole King, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Henry Mancini, Michel Legrand, and the Gershwins.

THE WICKED STAGE: SONGS ABOUT SHOW BUSINESS, HOSTED BY Christine Pedi – APRIL 29 AT 7PM

This concert series features songs from stage and screen centered on performers and theatrical life. Hosted by Christine Pedi, the evening includes selections such as “The Glamorous Life,” “Life Upon the Wicked Stage,” and “Lullaby of Broadway.”

Featuring Christine Andreas, Robert Cuccioli, Janet Fanale, Kate Rockwell, and Thom Sesma.

Music direction by Michael Lavine.

Hugh Panaro: MAN WITHOUT A MASK – APRIL 30 & MAY 1 AT 7PM

Hugh Panaro presents a solo concert featuring songs and stories from his career, including work from The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Side Show, Sweeney Todd, and Sunday in the Park with George.

Panaro has performed more than 2,000 times as the Phantom on Broadway and previously appeared as Raoul in the same production. His additional credits include Marius in Les Misérables.

Featuring Scarlett Strallen (April 30) and Norm Lewis (May 1).

STEPPING STONES AND COBBLESTONES: A NEW SONG CYCLE – APRIL 30 AT 9:30PM

Created by Zachary Isrow, Marianna Raho, Remy Stevens, Rebekah Davidson, and Joaquin Cichero, this new song cycle explores themes of creative development through original material.

Featuring Paige Brady and performers from Off-Broadway and emerging theatre communities.

BROADWAY ORIGINALS – MAY 1 AT 9:30PM

Produced and hosted by Scott Siegel, this concert brings together performers from original Broadway casts to revisit songs they introduced on stage.

Featuring Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Eddie Korbich, Allan Nicholls, Sahr Ngaujah, David Sabella, Bob Stillman, and additional performers.

ALEXA AND DREW FREEMAN: SIS, PLEASE – MAY 2 AT 9:30PM

Alexa and Drew Freeman make their 54 Below debut in a concert exploring sisterhood through musical theatre songs. Their credits include Friends! The Off-Broadway Musical Parody and “Tonightmares.”

The program features selections from Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, and SMASH.

David Rothenberg: NEVER TOO LATE – MAY 3 AT 1PM

David Rothenberg makes his 54 Below debut with a comedy performance reflecting on his life and career.

Rothenberg is the founder of The Fortune Society and has worked as a producer and publicist on more than 200 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

SCHUYLER IONA PRESS PLAYS HERSELF – MAY 3 AT 7PM

Schuyler Iona Press presents an evening of original songs. Her work blends elements of musical theatre and songwriting, and she has performed at venues including The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall.

SONGS FROM THE MUSICALS THAT MADE ME QUEER – MAY 3 AT 9:30PM

This concert features performers sharing songs from musicals that shaped their experiences, including selections from Dear Evan Hansen, Bare: A Pop Opera, and Falsettos.

Produced by James Ragen.

Featuring Ry Albinus, Nathan Ayotte, Sam Beckman, Kris Carrasco, Alyssa Cassese, Moss Jones, Katryna Marttala, Mia Mitrano, Samuel Moffatt, James Ragen, Tommy Ragen, Ethan Shavelson, Eva Spaid, Franco Tomaino, Zay Tucker, and Maggie Weller.

54 Below, located at 254 West 54th Street, presents over 700 shows per year and serves as a performance venue for Broadway and cabaret artists. The organization received the 2022 Tony Awards Honor for Excellence in the Theatre and operates as a nonprofit focused on preserving and expanding cabaret and musical theatre performance.
