This holiday season, ABC once again airs the PEANUTS Christmas special “I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown,” produced and animated by the same team that gave us the other, now classic cartoon specials based on Charles M. Schulz's famed comic strip. “I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown” airs SUNDAY, DEC. 22 (7:00-8:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

Just in time for the holiday season, the Peanuts gang have launched their tour across North America in A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage. The tour kicked off in Billings, MT this past weekend. The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is pleased to announce a diverse array of holiday-themed programming & family-friendly events, including: returning favorites from the Kimmel Center's esteemed Resident Companies like The Philadelphia Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, and The Philly POPS; FREE Gospel events; and opportunity for community outreach & city-wide celebrations like the FREE 15th annual New Year's Day celebration. This year, the Kimmel Center partners with Urban Affairs Coalition for 'Warmth for the Holidays 2019' donation drive, collecting new hats, scarves, mittens and gloves for children and adults. This collection supports Grand Central and Center For H.O.P.E.

ABC will air the beloved Emmy® Award-winning PEANUTS special “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in 1965, THURSDAY, DEC. 5 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST). The hour will also include a series of Christmas-themed animated stories entitled “Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales,” based on Schulz's work, in which each of the beloved PEANUTS characters – Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and Sally – star in his or her own charming animated vignette. Schulz, based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, this stage adaptation by Eric Schaeffer is presented by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson, and will be directed by Resident Artist James McHale. A Charlie Brown Christmas will preview from December 6th through 8th; regular performances will begin December 12th and continue through December 29th on the Fyda-Mar Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

The ABC Television Network will kick off the holiday season with the classic half-hour animated PEANUTS special, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” WEDNESDAY, NOV. 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. (TV-G) In the 1973 special, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, Charlie Brown wants to do something special for the gang. However, the dinner he arranges is a disaster when the caterers, Snoopy and Woodstock, prepare toast and popcorn as the main dish. Humiliated, it will take all of Marcie's persuasive powers to salvage the holiday for Charlie Brown. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 11/16/01)

The only snow I want to see this year is the snow that transforms the stage at the Coterie Theatre into a winter wonderland at opening night of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. William J. Christie directs this hilarious stage adaption by Eric Schaeffer. Written by Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz the play is based on the 1965 television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson.

ABC is the home for unforgettable holiday programming as the network celebrates the joy of the season. In November, the network serves up a bounty of Thanksgiving-themed episodes and the classic animated special “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” In December, ABC decks the halls with special Christmas and Hanukkah-themed episodes—the return of fan-favorite series “The Great Christmas Light Fight” and “The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition”; and an all-new holiday movie, “Same Time, Next Christmas,” starring Lea Michele. Timeless cartoons and beloved holiday films will also return. The fun continues after Christmas with New Year's-themed programming ringing in 2020. 

Just in time for the holidays, The Winter Park Playhouse gives audiences a top-notch professional production of the Broadway revival version of the hit musical You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown November 15 - 24 and December 5 - 15. This heartwarming musical features an all-star cast and won the 1999 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Saturday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and select Friday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

The Magik Theatre will present two blockbuster productions at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre (226 N. St. Mary's St.) in the 2019-2020 season. A Charlie Brown Christmas will return for its fifth annual production, December 12 a?" 15, 2019, followed by the San Antonio premier of Ella Enchanted: The Musical, June 25 a?" July 5, 2020. Tickets are on sale now.

Where do we look to find ourselves? The three plays in Prologue Theatre's second season explore this question beginning with Bert V. Royal's DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. In this DARK comedy, personal identity, drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful.

The beloved Tony Award-winning musical You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown is hitting the road beginning in January 2020. Directed by Michael Unger, this reimagined production will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip and the treasured characters created by Charles M. Schulz.
