Center Theatre Group has announced the cast for 'Linda Vista' by Tracy Letts. The Steppenwolf Theatre Company production will be presented at the Mark Taper Forum January 9 through February 17, 2019. Directed by Dexter Bullard, the opening of 'Linda Vista' is set for January 16, 2019. (more...)

During the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival, I discovered the all-female theatre troupe Broads' Word Ensemble when my love of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shew and being a fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy led me to the group's first production, Fifty Shades of Shrew. After being exquisitely entertained by the show, I vowed to follow the group in their future endeavors, whether at Fringe or not. So when I heard about their current production of The Lady Was a Gentleman, a screwball comedy of seduction, mistaken identity, and all the fun you can get away with when you're famous, I was more than ready to see what this inspirational group of women were presenting as a pure theatrical confection. On March 18th, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre celebrated the opening night of Vietnam Project II: Past and Present at the West End Theatre. Continuing their pioneering tradition of presenting bilingual productions, the series offers two productions from Vietnamese-American playwrights: WE ARE written and directed by Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, a bilingual production, performed in Vietnamese and English, incorporating the traditions of Vietnam's rich cultural past, and Monster by Derek Nguyen and directed by Kaipo Schwab, an English language modern day detective drama. Three years ago, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre made history when they presented their Vietnam Project, featuring the first professional production to be performed in Vietnamese on a New York stage. This spring, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will continue their pioneering tradition of presenting bilingual productions with Vietnam Project II: Past and Present at the West End Theatre (263 W. 86th Street between Broadway & West End Avenue in the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, 2nd floor). The second edition series will offer two productions from Vietnamese-American playwrights: We Are written and directed by Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, a bilingual production, performed in Vietnamese and English, incorporating the traditions of Vietnam's rich cultural past, and Monster by Derek Nguyen and directed by Kaipo Schwab, an English language modern day detective drama.
