Last night was one of those special kind of evenings in Manhattan. Members of the Broadway Cast of MISS SAIGON gave up their night off, to perform and raise money for NAAP (National Asian Artists Project). The conceit was the cast sing 'whatever they want' … and it worked. The young, attractive company of the current revival are very talented and events like these are always a reminder of how deeply gifted each individual member of a  company must, in order be to be able to explode with such power together, nightly, on the stage of the Broadway Theatre.

BWW Interview: Emily Bautista Talks Broadway Debut in MISS SAIGON
by Christopher Castanho - May 8, 2017

You don't always need a fairy godmother for your dreams to come true. Nineteen-year-old Emily Bautista was lucky enough to have extremely supportive parents and a boatload of talent instead. The thankful and humble young woman is now performing eight times a week in the Broadway revival of ‚ÄúMiss Saigon‚ÄĚ as an ensemble member and understudies the lead: Kim. Emily and I actually went to high school together at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts for Musical Theatre, and I was floored and overjoyed to see that she had been cast in the production. Bautista took some time in between shows of the Tony-nominated production to chat with me about her experience landing her first Broadway show.

Considering the sheer size of the forty-plus member cast, it's no surprise he was called to suit up for two roles soon after previews began.
