The Jam is back! After a six-year hiatus, Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts will return to Joe’s Pub with the 11th installment of his spoken word/storytelling series Daniel J. Watts’ The Jam: SHED.

54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Rashad McPherson & Friends for Gospel Brunch: Christmas Edition, an afternoon of music to feed the soul, on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 12 Noon. He will be joined by special guests, including Antoine L. Smith (MJ: The Musical), Carla Stewart (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical) and Angela Burchett (The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel a Lifetime feature film).

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical is rollin' back to Broadway! Rehearsals are underway for the Tony-nominated hit, which is led by Adrienne Warren in the title role, with Daniel J. Watts as Ike, Dawnn Lewis as Zelma, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe as Tina Turner at some performances, Tony Award nominee Myra Lucretia Taylor as Gran Georgeanna and Jessica Rush as Rhonda.

Broadway Week continued this evening on The Tonight Show! As Jimmy Fallon announced last week, the show will be celebrating Broadway's return during each episode this week. Next up, Adrienne Warren sang Private Dancer, which Fallon requested last week!

Stage Entertainment, James L. Nederlander and Tali Pelman, in association with Tina Turner, have announced that Tina - The Tina Turner Musical will star Nkeki Obi-Melekwe in the title role  beginning Tuesday, November 2, 2021. An original Broadway cast member, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe played Tina in the West End production and plays Tina at certain performances in the Broadway production as the Tina alternate.  

Earlier this week, the New York Theatre community gathered for a private screening of the upcoming film RESPECT, which is out in theatres starting today, August 13. Star of the film, Jennifer Hudson, director Liesl Tommy and more were on hand for the big night.

On December 21, 2020 at 8 pm EST, the stars of Broadway, TV, and film will unite for a holiday celebration concert to support Middle Collegiate Church. Director/Choreographer Matthew Johnson Harris (Take Me to the World at Carnegie Hall, Alvin Ailey core instructor) will direct and host.

TINA - THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL's gross for the week was $1,834,339.00, the highest for any eight-show week at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Prior to TINA - THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL, MOTOWN held the house record ($1,708,597.00) set in 2013.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Mars Rucker sustained an injury during a performance of Tina on Thursday night. Rucker plays Alline and Ikette in the show.
