John Prine's new acoustic video for his song “Paradise,” featuring special guest Kelsey Waldon, premiered yesterday at Sounds Like Nashville. The song was recorded as part of the pair's new collaborative 7-inch vinyl, The Kentucky Sessions, which is included with each purchase of Waldon's new album White Noise/White Lines—out October 4 via Prine's independent label Oh Boy Records. 

Joe's Pub Presents Tribute Concert To Nora York To Celebrate New Album SWOON

Good Mood Records will celebrate the vocalist and songwriter NORA YORK with a special tribute concert at Joe's Pub on on Monday, October 7 at 7:00 PM. This event will help launch the new album Swoon a?" the posthumous release produced by and featuring her collaborator Jamie Lawrence a?" featuring unreleased, never-before-heard compositions and interpretations of pop classics, which will be available on Friday, October 4.

THE BRUCE PROJECT Premieres On WFUV, September 23

WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) It's Bruce Springsteen's 70th birthday on Monday, September 23, and 90.7 WFUV in New York is celebrating this local hero in a significant and heartfelt way.   That evening, from 9-10 p.m. EDT, WFUV will premiere its original program, The Bruce Project, a one-hour special of live covers of Springsteen's songs by artists who consider him an influence and inspiration. The starry lineup of performers includes The Head and the Heart, the Amy Ray Band, The Hold Steady's Craig Finn, The Tallest Man on Earth, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band. All performances were recorded at FUV's Studio A at Fordham University in the Bronx.  

Holiday Cheer On Stage At VPAC This December

This year's Winter Holiday Series includes shows that will delight audiences of all ages featuring A Classical Christmas with the Boulder Philharmonic; Twas the Night Before Christmas; Judy Collins; Masters of Illusion; and Neil Berg's 50 Years of Rock & Roll. Performances are scheduled on Friday, September 27 at 7 pm, Thursday,October 17 at 7 pm, and Sunday, October 27 at 3:30 pm. Music director Jeff Cubeta on piano and back-up vocals is joined by Sean Harkness on guitar and Matt Scharfglass on bass.

Sam Fender Releases Debut Album HYPERSONIC MISSILES

Today the UK's Sam Fender releases his debut album, Hypersonic Missiles via Interscope. The LP was written, recorded and produced at Fender's own self-built warehouse studio in North Shields, England alongside long-standing friend and producer, Bramwell Bronte. Fender will embark on his first ever tour of North America with dates that kick off September 25 in Seattle, WA and conclude October 20 in Washington, DC. Along the way Sam and his band will make stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. The full tour is listed below.

On the heels of the successful world premiere of Bruce Springsteen's “Western Stars” at the Toronto International Film Festival, Fathom Events announces that it will bring music legend Bruce Springsteen to cinemas across America in an exclusive two-night theatrical release of “Western Stars.” The Fathom screenings, which will be held on October 19 and 23, will also feature an exclusive look behind the scenes with Springsteen, including never-before-seen archival footage and previously unreleased music from the Springsteen vault.

John Prine Takes Home Two Americana Music Association Honors & Awards

John Prine won two awards at last night's Americana Music Association Honors & Awards: Album of the Year (The Tree of Forgiveness) and Song of the Year (“Summer's End” written by Prine and Pat McLaughlin). The reigning 2017 and 2018 Americana Artist of the Year, Prine also performed “Angel From Montgomery” with Bonnie Raitt during last night's ceremony.

Twelve6 Entertainment today announced a multi-faceted partnership with Downtown Music Publishing in a publishing administration deal and the creation of a new joint venture. As a result of this agreement, Downtown will provide its bespoke creative and administration services globally to Nashville-based Twelve6's growing roster of prominent songwriters and artists, including Old Dominion's Trevor Rosen and Jerry Flowers. Additionally, a new joint venture between the two companies will focus on identifying and signing talent. Monument Records recording artist and songwriter Alex Hall is the first signing under this new partnership.
