United Solo Festival has announced the award winners for its Spring 2026 season at Theatre Row. The event recognized outstanding solo performances across multiple categories.

Todd Phillips' ground-breaking, award-winning film Joker will be screened with the accompaniment of a live orchestra performing composer Hildur Guðnadóttir's award-winning score next year at London's Royal Festival Hall on 7th February.

The musical sequel to the billion-dollar smash Joker, starring Academy Award-winner Joaquin Phoenix has gotten a release date.

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker may be returning to the big screen with a very A-list sidekick. It has been reported that Grammy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award-winner Lady Gaga is currently in early talks to join the film's cast.

Based on the book “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s” by Jeff Pearlman, the fast-break series chronicles the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties — a team that defined an era, both on and off the court.

Winning Time: the Rise of the Lakers Dynasty is a fast-break series about the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties — a team that defined an era, both on and off the court. The series stars John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Jason Clarke, Adrien Brody, Tracy Letts, and more.

The ensemble cast includes: John C. In the film, Nick Bannister (Jackman), a private investigator of the mind, tries to help clients access lost memories. After one of those clients, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson), disappears, Bannister uncovers a violent conspiracy.

According to Deadline, Joker is on its way to breaking the box office record for an R-rated film. It is currently expected to make $900M in global ticket sales.

Joker has officially grossed a record-breaking $234M worldwide in its first weekend, according to Deadline. $140.5M of that was made at the international box office across 73 markets. The film broke the October record, previously held by last year's Venom.

The new film Joker has caused a lot of differing opinions, from fans and actors alike. The most recent to speak out on his opinions is Josh Brolin.

Joker is continuing to bring in a record amount of money in October, with an increase of $39.8M on Friday, according to Deadline. The film's 3-day haul is now at $94M. This puts the film at an expected $188M-$194M worldwide.

HBO will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo mission moon landing with a special encore presentation of the Emmy®-winning 1998 miniseries FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON.

University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance alumni Brett Cullen and Sally Mayes, stars of the stage and screen, are bringing their work back to their alma mater for the world premiere of 'Contradiction of the Southern Soul.'  The play was written by Mayes and will be directed by Cullen. The workshop- meaning the production is in its developmental stage- will debut at the UH Jose Quintero Theatre Thursday, May 9 - Sunday, May 12.

Growing up in East Texas gave Tony nominated actress/singer Sally Mayes many things - A love for music of all kinds, a high tolerance for extremely spicy food, and an appreciation for all things odd and quirky. Most of all it gave her a bone deep love for a people that are frequently caricatured but not often understood, and a longing to tell their stories in all their complicated messiness. Her play 'Contradiction of the Southern Soul' developed at the University of Houston theatre department will have it's debut May 8th .

Jadyn Rylee, age 13, travelled to NYC to record the title track to The Promise: A Docuseries on Childhood Cancer and collaborated with Violet Young on a cover of the song  Symphony by Clean Bandit and Zara Larrson.   Both videos were Produced by Risk It Productions, LLC, Directed by Kristi Gatto and Brendan Grant as The Director of Photography. The video was filmed in Contra Studios and recorded at Groove Garden.
