Amphibian Stage Productions to Screen NT Live's HAMLET with Benedict Cumberbatch

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) will show a film of the National Theatre's production of Hamlet by William Shakespeare, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Back by popular demand, screenings will be on Wednesday, April 6 at 11am and 7pm, and Saturday, April 9 at 1pm in partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. This will be the fourth National Theatre Live screening of Amphibian's 2016 season.

The next show in the Vortex Theater will be Terra Nova, by Ted Tally. Opening March 25 and running until April 17, the play covers the last leg of the ill-fated 1912 Terra Nova South Pole expedition, led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott. Co-directed by Mark Hisler (left, in below image) and Aaron Worley (right), this show is a cunning balance between a thoughtful social commentary and a visceral human trial. Mark Hisler and I met to discuss this balance, and the history behind it.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will present Irish actress Lisa Dwan in her internationally acclaimed Beckett Trilogy: Not /Footfalls/ Rockaby, running for six performances from April 13 - 17, 2016, at NYU Skirball Center. Just in case you were worried that the 15 years between ZOOLANDER 2 and the original male model comedy would lessen the latter's wacky sense of humor, fear not, ZOOLANDER 2 is every bit as stupid as the original, and for fans of the first film, that might be enough to overcome the lack of originality in the sequel's extremely thin plot.
