How many opportunities are there out there for aspiring songwriters to have their music heard by one of Broadway's brightest stars? How many chances do you get to turn your creative dream into a reality? As Tony nominee Taylor Louderman likes to say, 'Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.' And she's the one providing the opportunity.

Tony Nominee Taylor Louderman (Mean Girls, Bring it On, Kinky Boots) wants to give new songwriters the opportunity to collaborate with professionals in the Musical Theater industry. Last year with 500 song submissions Taylor teamed up with Ben Rauhala and Warner Music Group to give musical songwriters the chance to have their original song recorded in-studio, showcased and performed by Taylor and Broadway Alum. Last night, The Metrograph in New York City hosted a special NYC/Broadway Screening of Netflix's new musical drama series, Soundtrack.

Starring Buffalo concluded it's 3 performances of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS on Saturday night. The visiting Broadway artists included Matt Doyle as Seymour, Lindsay Nicole Chambers as Audrey and Brandon Espinoza as the Dentist. Artistic Director Drew Fornarola has announced EVITA as the spring of 2020 staged musical concert. Casting will be announced in the new year. The company is using Shea's 710 Theatre this season, after it's inaugural season at Rockwell Hall last year presenting THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. The touring cast of THE BROADWAY PRINCESS PARTY was also in town and joined in to celebrate.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, opened its 2019-2020 Carnegie Hall season on Friday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with a program featuring star of stage and screen: Jeremy Jordan.

On Saturday August 10, singer/actor Derek Klena, now a popular leading man on Broadway, returned to his California roots to present his first live LA concert on the El Portal Mainstage. To say it clicked, is an understatement. I have seen Klena perform since 2009 when he came in a runnerup in LA's Next Great Stage Star. He is handsome, charming, a real promising performer who comes from a warm West Covina family. Maybe it's because of these roots, that he is as successful as he is right now. He adores his caring mother and father and two siblings Lauren and Dylan. Though married to his high chool sweetheart and living in NYC, he returns regularly to celebrate birthdays and holidays with the family or to see his brother Dylan perform on local stages.

Schmackary's, 'the official cookie of Broadway,'  will host their 5th annual BROADWAY BAKES from May 27-31, 2019. Over twenty of the biggest names on Broadway, including 2019 Tony Awards nominees,  will join together to work behind the counter at Schmackary's, selling cookies to customers and raising money in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Just yesterday, the American Theatre Wing presented the 2019 Jonathan Larson Grants to Julia Gytri & Avi Amon (book, music and lyrics), Emily Gardner Xu Hall (book, music and lyrics), Andy Roninson (music and lyrics), and Ben Wexler (music and lyrics). Four prestigious grants of $10,000 each, as well as additional support in the form of residencies, concerts, and recording grants, totaling over $50,000, were presented at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space.

Birdland Theater was thrilled to present Ariana DeBose, one of the stars of Broadway's Summer: The Donna Summer Musical­­­, on Monday, November 5.

Ashley Loren will be making her solo debut at The Cutting Room on November 12, 2018 in New York City. The singer, actor, and songwriter will lend her powerhouse voice to pop covers, theatre hits, and original songs in an intimate lounge setting.
