The fall 2016 season of /A•STIR/ which included development of five new musicals, wrapped this week. The mission of the /A•STIR/ is to introduce movement as a narrative tool to writers, composers, directors, and producers of projects in the early writing and development stages. Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, presents A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum July 30 through August 14. One of the funniest musical comedies ever written, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum features the music and lyrics of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim and book by multiple Tony and Emmy Award-winning writer Larry Gelbart, who created the smash TV series 'M*A*S*H.' The musical, sponsored by Walker, Connor & Spang LLC, is directed by playhouse veteran David Hemsley Caldwell, and closes out the theatre's 2016 summer season, sponsored by Franklin County Visitors Bureau.

The John W. Engeman Theater is currently presenting WEST SIDE STORY, running through November 8, 2015. From the first notes to the final breath, WEST SIDE STORY is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. The well-known and beloved score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written. The Broadway's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark musical.
