THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE Will Have NYC Workshop and Private Reading

Neil Gooding Productions and New York Rep will be holding a workshop and closed reading of THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE by Ashley Griffin at Theatre Row on the 17th and 18th of March, prior to its planned premiere season in New York.

Sean Allan Krill, Samantha Massell & More Will Lead PORTRAIT OF A HEART Reading

On March 23, 2022, Keaka Productions, LLC will present, by invitation only, the first industry reading of “Portrait of a Heart”, a new play by Ashley Griffin (Trial). The reading will be directed by Mia Walker (Jagged Little Pill, Waitress). The play is based on a concept by Brian Spector (The Inheritance).

Westside School of Ballet announces long time beloved teacher, Joan Bayley, passed away on January 5th 2022, just shy of her 102nd birthday. Often called “The Greatest Dance Teacher There Ever Was,” the dance world was forever changed for the better because of Joan Bayley. (“Joan.”)

SPECTACLE: THE MUSICAL Will Receive a Spin-Off Web Series

Portrait of a Heart received an informal reading through Artists in Residence of Toronto in January, and another virtual reading just last week. The latest reading featured Sean Allan Krill (Jagged Little Pill), Nadia Bowers, Taylor Rose Mickens, Danny Gardner, Jete Laurence, John Allyn. It featured stage direction by Nicholas Leung and organized by creative consultant Hannah Ryan (Hamilton, An American in Paris).

Meredith Patterson and Jordan Lage Join Virtual UK Premiere Of SNOW

After hit off-Broadway productions in NYC and development at the famed Playwrights Horizons, Ashley Griffina??s NYIT Award nominated play SNOW will make its UK debut in the fall of 2020 in a virtual production produced by Laura Jury and the South Devon Players Theatre starring Broadway artists Meredith Patterson and Jordan Lage.

With the current theatre world on hiatus, I have created a Spotlight Series on Broadway World which features interviews with some of the many talented artists who make our Los Angeles theatre community so exciting and vibrant thanks to their ongoing contribution to keeping the Arts alive in the City of the Angels. And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. This Spotlight focuses on Ashley Griffin, an actor in Los Angeles since the age of five who moved to New York City to follow her theatre dreams - and is now both writing and acting in shows.

Ashley Griffin Signs Three Play Publishing/Licensing Deal With By/For Publishing

Writer/performer Ashley Griffin (Trial, Twilight: The Musical!) signs three play publishing deal with By/For Publishing for representation of her shows: The Snow Queen (adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen story,) A Little Princess (adapted from the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett,) and The Jungle Book (adapted from the novel by Rudyard Kipling.)   

THE MIDDLEMAN Set to Open at The Hudson Guild Theater

On Tuesday, February 25th at 7pm, Wednesday February 26th at 6:30pm and Saturday February 29th at 4:30 pm there will be a premiere presentation of the new play The Middleman written by Marlin Thomas and directed by Ashley Griffin (Hamlet) at The Hudson Guild Theater, 441 West 26th Street as part of NYC Winterfest. SPECTACLE THE MUSICAL Comes To The Triad

On Thursday March 28th Ashley Griffin and Lori Petty received the WellLife Network Community Outreach and Partnership award for their work on the hit play Trialand its advocacy impact. Trial,a new play by Ashley Griffin(Snow, Twilight the Unauthorized Musical Parody), and directed by Lori Petty(Orange is New Black, A League of Their Own) tells the unique, provocative, story of a young woman waiting for her own judgment in the bureaucratic system of the afterlife where she finds herself in the role of judge and jury to determine the eternal fate of her father, the man responsible for her abuse and death. The play is inspired by a true story.
