Today, Tuesday 16th March, is the one-year anniversary of theatres being forced to close across the U.K. To mark the date, The Old Vic have released a special video showcasing the work they have created in the last year despite their doors being closed.

With the current theatre world on hiatus, I have created a Spotlight Series on Broadway World which features interviews with some of the many talented artists who make our Los Angeles theatre community so exciting and vibrant thanks to their ongoing contribution to keeping the Arts alive in the City of the Angels. And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. This Spotlight focuses on Julia Buis, an L.A. actor who traveled the world entertaining before settling in Hamburg, Germany.
Old Vic Artistic Director Releases Statement Regarding Upcoming Performances

Matthew Warchus, Artistic Director of the Old Vic has released a statement regarding upcoming performances. He has announced that two thirds of the Old Vic's staff has been furloughed, and the rest have taken a pay cut. He also said that the theatre hopes to present its production of A Christmas Carol this November.
People's Light Cancels Remainder of 2019/2020 Season and Begins Virtual Programs

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) announces that it will cancel all remaining performances of its 2019-2020 season. This includes the formerly suspended run of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins and the run of Amy Herzog's Mary Jane, which was to follow.

Yesterday, Playbill broke the news that the critically acclaimed graphic novel THE PRINCE AND THE DRESSMAKER by Jen Wang will be the next project for husband-wife team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who previously worked together on the music for Disney's Frozen, Coco, and Frozen 2. Robert is a two-time EGOT winner -- he is the youngest to win the award, to have won it in the shortest amount of time, and to have won it more than once. He broken out with his work co-writing Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon.
