The musical is based on a true story about Cline's friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in 1961 and continued a unique pen-pal relationship with Cline through-out her life.

Walnut Street Theatre Announces Change To Mainstage Season Lineup

Walnut Street Theatre has announced an update for its current 2021-22 season. The musical Always…Patsy Cline will run from April 12 through May 15, 2022, in place of the originally scheduled production of On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. The change comes as the co-producing theatre was no longer able to partner on the production.

In the past two decades I have had several opportunities to see Always, Patsy Cline and I always avoided the show, thinking 'A two-woman show can't be entertaining and besides, I don't like country music.' Please, please do not make the mistake I did. This show has only a few more performances in the Coachella Valley, and it is an incredibly entertaining and moving experience. Part celebrity concert, part Hallmark heart-warming tale, Desert Theatreworks' current production is a must-see!
