BWW Review: A Blast to the Past in THE SHOEBOX

Kate Brennan's The Shoebox transports audiences back in time to high school and early adolescence. This is a time that many adults would consider simple, yet, as revealed through the plights of Brennan's characters, the viewer is reminded how complicated and tumultuous it felt in the moment. The Shoebox is part of the fourth annual She NYC Arts Summer Theater Festival at The Connelly Theater, which strives to provide women writers, composers, and directors with resources to jump-start their careers in the theater industry.

Vibrant Emotional Health hosted their 27th Annual Gala, last night - Share. Connect. Heal. -  which raised over $600,000 in support of its efforts to promote mental and emotional well-being for all. The evening honored ABC's "A Million Little Things," represented by cast members James Roday and Stephanie Szostak, for its powerful portrayal of a group of friends who support one another and find healing after one of their close friends dies of suicide.

SOUND BITES 6.0 Award Winners Announced

Last night, Theatre Now New York (TNNY) presented its Sixth Annual Festival of 10-Minute Musicals at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center, 129 West 67th Street, New York, NY 10023. SOUND BITES 6.0 grants composers, lyricists, and librettists the unique opportunity to present their work in front of a live audience. This one-night only event, now in its sixth year, showcases 10 new musicals by up-and-coming musical theatre writing teams.

IF SAND WERE STONE Announces Cast of Off-Broadway Debut as Part of 2018 New York Musical Festival

Creators Carly Brooke Feinman and Cassie Willson are thrilled to announce the casting for their original musical If Sand Were Stone, making its Off-Broadway debut this July as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) Next Link Project. Featuring original music by Ms. Willson and original book & lyrics by Ms. Feinman, If Sand Were Stone will play a 5-performance run at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row beginning July 18, 2018.
