Burning Coal Theatre Company presents Kidswrite 2023, a festival of new plays written by youngsters from 6th to 12th grades, May 27th and 28th at 2 pm at Burning Coal Theatre.

Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Music Director Héctor Guzmán and Executive Director Gregory Patterson have announced several new program initiatives for the 2023/2024 Season designed to advance the PSO's strategic plan to provide more opportunities for North Texans to experience high quality music. 

Crater Original Soundtrack with score composed by Dan Romer ('Luca') and Osei Essed ('Saint X') is out now. Directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, the coming-of-age sci-fi adventure stars Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce and Scott Mescudi.

As an extension and expansion of the popular exhibit Veni, Vidi, Vici by international portrait artist Serge Strosberg held at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County early this year, the Historical Society of Palm Beach County is now offering an even larger version: Reimagining Palm Beach, now on display through May 30, 2023.

The 2023 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out this evening to recipients in 15 categories, with four honorary awards also bestowed. The Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball hosted by stars of stage and screen: Kevin Cahoon (Tony nominee, 'Shucked'), D'Arcy Carden ('The Thanksgiving Play'), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Tony nominee, 'Ain't No Mo''), Bonnie Milligan (Tony nominee, 'Kimberly Akimbo'), Arian Moayed (Tony nominee, 'A Doll's House'), and Tamara Tunie (The New Group's 'Bernarda's Daughters'). The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

The 38th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were presented on, Sunday, May 7, 2023 at NYU Skirball beginning at 7:00pm EST. Check out the winners here!

Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work. 

On May 23rd from 7-8pm at the Roberts Studio Theatre in the South End of Boston, 2nd Act will premiere a staged reading of their newest play, I'll Be There For You. Created in collaboration with Wayside Family and Youth Services, this play will demonstrate how protective factors, like a supportive community, impact a child's development and their relationship to drugs. The stories at the heart of this play were drawn from interviews with young people in recovery in Greater Boston.
