Ever since the Miss America pageant began, the beautiful contestants embodied the dreams of every young girl in the nation. Except one. Her name is Barra Grant, whose mother Bess Myerson was the only Jewish Miss America and one of the most famous (and infamous) Miss Americas of all time. The story of their comedic, seismic relationship is told in the world premiere of the Miss America's Ugly Daughter, written and performed by Grant and opening July 14 at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

Artists Repertory Theatre extends the world premiere production of the Broadway-scale new musical Cuba Libre through November 15. Due to robust advance ticket sales, Artists Rep has added a full week of performances, as well as additional shows within the originally announced run, even prior to the show's first preview performance on Saturday, October 3.

The talent lineup for the 20th Anniversary of the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert, scheduled to take place in Sonora, California, on April 18th, has been announced today. Headlining the show will be Sam Harris, direct from his Off-Broadway hit run of 'Ham: A Musical Memoir,' directed by Billy Porter ('Kinky Boots') and produced by Susan Dietz. Other performers will include Mark D. Espinoza, best known for his role as 'Jesse' on the hit 90s TV series 'Beverly Hills, 90210'; multi-platinum selling songwriter Kevin Fisher; Robyn Spangler, BroadwayWorld's 2011 Cabaret Artist of the Year, and many more. Light and sound design will once again be created by Broadway veteran technical director Matt Berman.

Producers Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman, and Ken Davenport announced today that the smash hit Broadway comedy It's Only a Play, which opened on Broadway on October 9, 2014, has extended its run through Sunday, June 7, 2015. Originally announced as a limited engagement through January 4th, It's Only a Play was recently extended through March 29th at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street), where it will now play through June 7th. Tickets are now on sale for all performances.
