20th Anniversary of the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert Set for 4/18

By: Apr. 10, 2015

The talent lineup for the 20th Anniversary of the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert, scheduled to take place in Sonora, California, on April 18th, has been announced today. Headlining the show will be Sam Harris, direct from his Off-Broadway hit run of "Ham: A Musical Memoir," directed by Billy Porter ("Kinky Boots") and produced by Susan Dietz. Other performers will include Mark D. Espinoza, best known for his role as "Jesse" on the hit 90s TV series "Beverly Hills, 90210"; multi-platinum selling songwriter Kevin Fisher; Robyn Spangler, BroadwayWorld's 2011 Cabaret Artist of the Year, and many more. Light and sound design will once again be created by Broadway veteran technical director Matt Berman.

"Artists, like dreams, need support. They need to be recognized, nurtured and encouraged to fly," said Todd Schroeder, famed musical director, composer and media personality. "It is ok to dream and it is possible to live that dream. I'm doing it and I have the opportunity to share that with the students and with the whole community. That's why I come up every year instead of just writing a check. Yes, the money goes to the graduating seniors but the message is for everyone."

The "Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant" was founded by Schroeder and his high school leadership teacher Steve Southard in 1995. For the past 20 years this grant has given over 40 scholarships to graduating high school seniors wishing to pursue a career in the arts.

Past performers at the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert have included Jason Alexander, Sam Harris, David Burnham, Rita Coolidge and Jennifer Leigh Warren, to name a few.

The Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert will take place on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sonora High School Auditorium, 430 N. Washington Street, Sonora, CA. For tickets, please contact Nancie Weiser at 209-532-5511, ext.112. The cost for tickets is $20 for adults, $10 for students. For more information visit www.ToddSchroeder.net.
