Nicolette Blount Biography
Nicolette is a Chickasaw producer, performer, playwright, composer, and lyricist. She is the cowriter, composer, and lyricist for the new musical in development Savage the Musical. Savage is based on the true story of her great grandma, Native American Chickasaw Vaudeville and silent film starlet, Wanda Savage. Wanda faced racism, misogyny, and abuse while trying to make a name of herself, all the while trying to be a mother to her son in a time (1920s) when women didn't have many choices. Nicolette self produced and recorded an EP and singles for Savage that has received over 37K streams to date. Savage has over 8K social media followers and premiered, in concert, at the 2019 NYMF. Savage the Musical had its first developmental production April 2022 at Jaduke Theater in MA receiving standing ovations at each of the four shows.Nicolette has been featured in Native Max Magazine, DC Metro Arts, and the Chickasaw Times. Some of her live interviews include: 89.5 KVMR Resilience Radio, Red Curtain Addict, Live with Rye, Be Our Guest, Breaking the Curtain, The Stage Door Show, and Musicals with Impact. She has performed at Broadway Sessions.
Nicolette has coproduced A Commercial for Regina Comet under her boutique production company, Take My Shot Productions. She is an investor for the Museum of Broadway. She is also the owner of Underground Demos.
Nicolette is a proud voting member of the Chickasaw Nation and a member of the Dramatist Guild, ASCAP, Maestra, Beyond Music, and PAAL.
She is an advocate for the MMIW movement and gives proceeds from Savage the Musical's streaming music to OKNAAV (Oklahoma Native Alliance Against Violence).
