NICKY GILLIBRAND trained as a fashion textile designer. She works as a costume designer in Theatre and Opera and occasionally as a set designer. Winner of the Gold award for Best Costume Design, Prague Quadrenale 2003 for A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Royal Shakespeare Company. She is a visiting Professor at University of the Arts London (UAL). Met Opera's Live in HD Season Concludes Next Weekend With DIE ZAUBERFLOTE

The Metropolitan Opera presents a live transmission of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), one of Mozart’s most beloved operas, on Saturday 3rd June at 5.55pm.

Mozart's DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE Gets Its First New Met Staging In 19 Years From Director Simon McBurney

Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (May 19–June 10), one of opera's most beloved works, receives its first new Met staging in 19 years from acclaimed English director Simon McBurney. In his Met debut, McBurney lets loose a volley of theatrical flourishes, incorporating projections, aerial and sound effects, physical comedy, a hovering platform, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart's work. Maestro Nathalie Stutzmann—having made her Met debut earlier this season with Don Giovanni—performs Mozart double duty leading both productions running simultaneously. With the pit raised, the Met Orchestra musicians will interact with the cast. Gareth Morrell conducts the May 27 performance.

A Mozart Doubleheader Of New Productions Of DON GIOVANNI And DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE Close Out The Met's 2022�"23 Season

The Metropolitan Opera will close out its 2022–23 season with Don Giovanni, starting May 5, and Die Zauberflöte, starting May 19. Nathalie Stutzmann will make her Met debut as conductor of both works, with Ivo van Hove directing Don Giovanni and Simon McBurney staging Die Zauberflöte—also both making their Met debuts.
