Brooklyn College MFA Playwriting Program's Bring a Weasel and a Pint of Your Own Blood returns for its 15th year at The Brick Theater on Friday, June 9th and Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at 8pm.

Weasel Festival (whose full official Mac-Wellman-given title is Bring a Weasel and A Pint of Your Own Blood) has served as a showcase for recent graduates in Brooklyn College's MFA playwriting program for the last 14-odd years. Alumni include: Tina Satter (Is This a Room), Annie Baker (The Flick), Young Jean Lee (Straight White Men), Sarah DeLappe (The Wolves), Jess Barbagallo (Weekend At Barry's), Clare Barron (Dance Nation), Haruna Lee (Suicide Forest), Dennis Allen II (When We Wake Up Dead) and many more!

The Tank announced today the programming schedule for the City Artist Corps Grantee Performances. From now until October 31st, the Tank is presenting FREE in-person programming highlighting the work of 14 City Artist Corps Grantees.

The Exponential Festival presents and promotes experimental performances created by New York-based artists working across all mediums. The works will premiere this January on Exponential's YouTube channel for a suggested donation, with 100% of proceeds going to the artists.

Corkscrew Theater Festival in collaboration with Sheep Eats Wolf will present corkscrew 4.0, a series of interactive online experiences as twisted, unsettling, absurd, and alienating as the internet itself. Available at corkscrew4pt0.com starting Monday, August 10 through Sunday, August 23, these experiences are inspired by the plays programmed for what would have been Corkscrew's fourth summer season of five world premieres and four readings. 

Corkscrew Theater Festival, scheduled to return for its fourth season this summer, will postpone its live presentations until summer 2021 due to COVID-19. Corkscrew is committed to supporting its artists financially and artistically through the year's delay, and will present the entire lineup of performances next year.

Theresa Buchheister, Ryan William Downey and Travis Just have officially taken the reins at The Brick. As of January 1, 2020 they are ushering The Brick into a new era along with their artistic and curatorial collaborators: Teresa Braun, Phil Hartman, Yuki Kawahisa, Alyse Lamb, Justin Liville, Nicolas Noreña, and Harrison David Rivers. The Exponential Festival, a month-long January festival for NYC-based emerging artists working in experimental performance, is proud to present the world premiere production of Duet-ed by What Holds Heat. What Holds Heat is a collaboration between Nic Adams (Icarus in the L.E.S.) and Cori Marquis (Cori Marquis + the Nines [IX] and LMnO3). Of their works, they write, "Our kinetic and experiential works of performance seek to extend the boundaries of theatre and expand its power for our audience. Our ensemble-based theatre prioritizes impressionistic storytelling, with subjects ranging from the intimate to the fantastical, while always being grounded in the complexity of human relationships." Since 2015, What Holds Heat has produced three original works for the stage, at venues like Dixon Place, The Bushwick Starr (as part of Target Margin Theater's Stein Labs), and Vital Joint.

Performances will take place January 4 - February 3 in partnership with The Brick, Chez Bushwick, The Glove, JACK, Target Margin Theater's The Doxsee, Triskelion's Douglas Elliman Studio Theater and Vital Joint. Panels will take place at The Bushwick Starr. The participants in this multi-artist, multi-venue festival are committed to ecstatic creativity in the face of commercialism. Exponential is driven by inclusiveness and a diversity of artists, forms, and ideas coupled with utopian resource-sharing, mentoring, and the championing of risky, rigorous work in eclectic fields to keep theatre kicking.

FEAST: A Performance Series, curated and Produced by Alex Randrup and Conrad Kluck, presents their latest monthly show, FEAST: May. This performance takes place on Wednesday, May 2nd at 7pm at UNDER St. Marks Theater (94 St. Marks Place). Following the performance, the audience is invited to meet and mingle with the artists at The Grafton, with reserved tables and happy hour specials.
