New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' 48th season will continue December 30-31, 2022 and January 7 -8, 2023 with the mounting of a Gilbert & Sullivan staple, H.M.S. Pinafore; or, The Lass That Loved a Sailor at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players will begin its 48th season with its colorful and vivacious production of the Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic send up of Republican (in the generic sense) principles and class distinction The Gondoliers.  The she will run from Friday, October 28th through Sunday, October 30th. 

Continue the celebration of VHRP LIVE's return to live performance on April 26-27 and enjoy Mlle. Modiste at their new home at The Theater at St. Jeans. The New Victor Herbert Orchestra will be occupying the orchestra pit. Come hear Herbert as he was meant to be heard (just a tad smaller).

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players will return to New York for its 47th season, and its first full production since January 2020, with one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most famed works, The Pirates of Penzance.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players has announced the grand finale of their 2020 Virtual Season, a premiere cinematic experience of Sir Arthur Sullivan and F.C. Burnand’s comic operetta, Cox and Box. This all-new original film is available for stream December 27 – January 2.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players has postponed their traditional NYC season of live performance full productions until 2021-2022. In its place, an exciting and creative virtual season is underway with lots to look forward to for fans and patrons of the company.

Die-hard musical theater enthusiasts and fans of opera will love the Mikado, one of Gilbert and Sullivan's strongest scores. With quick-witted and clever lyrics that satirize society, you can easily see the influence G&S's works like The Mikado had on the works of American musical theater composers Rodgers and Hart, Stephen Sondheim, and Harnick and Bock. America's preeminent Gilbert & Sullivan Repertory Ensemble, continues its 45th season with its novel production of The Mikado, one of the most enduring musicals in theatrical history.

Though there's nary a mention of snowfall or jingle bells in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, the abundance of joy and good clean humor, not to mention some terrific voices, in the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players' frothily charming production of G&S's 1879 romantic romp makes it a grand choice for holiday entertainment.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players 44th season kicks off with Gilbert & Sullivan's The Yeomen of the Guard which tells the story of a falsely accused prisoner in the Tower of London, the two girls who loved him, and an out of work itinerant jester in grand and colorful fashion - with humor and a touch of pathos. Performances are on Saturday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, October 28 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (E. 68th Street between Park & Lexington Avenues near Lexington).

Even though Sheldon Harnick was playing the violin in his High School's Gilbert & Sullivan productions… 'I could still hear the lyrics', he wrote in his alumni magazine of Northwestern University. Harnick continued, 'At that time I was turned on by the patter songs, so I began to familiarize myself with Gilbert and Sullivan. I was more fascinated by the virtuosity than anything else. Little by little, I also realized what a fine poet Gilbert was and how imaginative he was, even in the slower songs. So he became an enormous influence.'

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, begins its exciting 2017-18 Season on Friday, September 15 (7:30PM) with a new jewel box production of The Sorcerer, celebrating its 140th anniversary this year.
