Thirty-three nonfiction works from seventeen countries comprise the latest Sundance Institute Documentary Fund and Stories of Change Grantees, announced today. 81% of the supported projects have at least one woman producer or director; 48% originate from outside the US.

Odyssey Impact and its production company Transform Films announced today a series of awards, upcoming films and growth for the Spring into Summer 2018. The national non-profit organization – that has won an unprecedented nine major awards including a 2018 Peabody Award and 2017 Venice International Film Festival Human Rights Award – has a mission to inspire social change through the power of film. Recent and upcoming works are slated to compete and screen at prestigious film festivals throughout the world including this month at Tribeca and The Melbourne International Film Festival in August.
The 17th Annual Tribeca Film Festival Announces Short Film Lineup With Narrative, Documentary, & Animated Shorts

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 55 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 29 world premieres. The selected shorts include a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers and were curated from a record 4,754 submissions. For the second year running, 40% of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, which consist of five narrative, three documentary, one animation, and one hybrid program. The program will also include special screenings and the 12th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts Film program, sponsored by Nutella®, runs throughout the Festival, April 18-29.

New York Stage and Film have announced that its Annual Winter Gala, to be held this year on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at The Plaza Hotel (770 Fifth Avenue, New York City), will honor Oscar nominated multi-hyphenate Stanley Tucci and business luminary Anne Tatlock. Biographies for each can be found below. It was also announced today that, at the gala, Tony Award winners Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anika Noni Rose will perform selections from Miranda's upcoming The Hamilton Mixtape, which was performed in a concert reading this past summer during the 2013 Powerhouse Season, the annual highlight of the nearly three-decades long collaboration between Vassar College and New York Stage and Film to develop works for the American theater.
