The Golden Age of Broadway, the 1940s and 50s, was an era in which Broadway began flourishing with a crossover between theatre and cinema. The Actors Studio emerged in New York City and inspired artists to work in underground private groups and master classes. While many are nostalgic for that “old studio era” of Broadway, one person, in particular, has made it his mission to bring art back to the stage: Adam Dennis Geiger.

The Chain One Act Festival is currently accepting submissions. All performances will take place in their newly renovated 99-seat Off-Broadway theater in the heart of midtown. Original works 10 minutes to 60 minutes in length will be accepted.

The tony award-winning Drama Book Shop is hosting a special in-person conversation with playwright Joanna Pickering on May 2nd, 7.30pm to discuss her trilogy: Truth, Lies and Deception.

LAByrinth Theater Company will launch into its 30th Anniversary season with the return of The Barn Series 2023, an annual festival featuring a full roster of new plays, and Día Y Noche, a world premiere production written by David Anzuelo (Shared Sentences) and directed by Carlos Armesto (The Who’s Tommy).
