Judith Hill has been praised by Rolling Stone for her “stellar powerhouse vocals.” In addition to penning and performing her own material, Judith – who wrote her first song at the age of four – has backed such artists as Stevie Wonder and the late Michael Jackson. Hers is one of the stories told in director Morgan Neville’s acclaimed 20 Feet From Stardom, a film that shines the spotlight on the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. The film has won the Film Critics Award for Best Documentary and an Academy Award for Best Documentary. The film also won the 2015 Grammy for Best Music Film. Hill, who was also featured on the film’s soundtrack, was a contestant on season four of “The Voice.” Judith has already garnered much praise for her live performance as opener for Josh Groban, John Legend and Prince both in the US and the UK.Judith Hill’s debut album, “Back In Time,” produced by herself & Prince is out now on NPG Records.

YoungArts congratulates the 58th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, with special acknowledgement to the 20 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts (full list below) who are YoungArts award winners and were nominated for the honor by YoungArts. The U.S. Presidential Scholars award—one of the nation's highest honors for high school students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership qualities and community service—is presented on behalf of the President of the United States and honors up to 161 graduating high school seniors of high potential each year. Students who would like to be considered for U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts must be YoungArts award winners. Applications for the 2023 YoungArts competition will open on June 7, 2022 at youngarts.org/competition.

It’s Holiday time in New York City and theater and cabaret are returning. However, one of the legendary venues and it’s main attraction for the Christmas/New Years entertainment tradition is missing. Cafe Carlyle and Steve Tyrell. Since 2005 Steve has been a fixture in the Cafe at this time of year but Cafe Carlyle has not re-opened yet so Steve made a brief one night stop over during his current tour to entertain his legions of fans at SONY Hall last night.

In celebration of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 25, The Voter Participation Center joins with Balcony Films for a release of a new music video and original song, 'L.O.V.E. (Let One Voice Emerge),' urging women and other unregistered voters to head to the ballot box on November 6. 'Let one voice emerge, let your voice be heard' at the voting booth, the song reminds voters. Unmarried women, persons of color and young people - the Rising American Electorate - comprise 53 percent of the voting eligible population, and yet represent 63 percent of all unregistered citizens.

Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' concert film opens worldwide in IMAX and conventional theaters in just five days, and singer/musician Judith Hill was there for every moment of the film and shared its secrets with ET's Kevin Frazier. Sony Pictures Entertaiment announced last month that the release date for 'Michael Jackson: This Is It' has been moved up to Oct. 28, two days earlier than previously announced. Tickets go on sale Sept. 27.
