The Music Hall announced another round of shows coming to their newly renovated venue, The Music Hall Lounge. Continuing the grand opening celebration weekend, stand up comedian and actor Michael Ian Black will perform two shows; other opening weekend shows include a sold out concert by Darlingside and two sets with comedian Pat McGann. The latest Lounge schedule runs through October, with more rounds of announcements scheduled throughout May and into June.

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke announced today the release of her new EP Imposter on April 19th via Bad Dog Records. Formerly of the New England-based folk-rock duo The Story, Jonatha also shared the lead single 'Fire' from the forthcoming album. Parade Magazine stated 'With 'Fire' songstress Jonatha Brooke lets her self-realized insights roll off her melodious tongue. This sing-song triumph is punctuated by insistent drums and intense horns and stars Brooke's highly expressive vocal chops.'

Named for their cranky old guitars, Los Angeles-based duo Roscoe & Etta – singer/songwriters Maia Sharp and Anna Schulze – will release their self-titled debut September 7. BuzzBands.LA premiered the first single, “Broken Headlights,” and notes “…their voices feel right as rain—the kind that 'clears the air over Los Angeles,' as Sharp [and Schulze] sing.”
Powerhouse, the theater development program by Vassar and New York Stage and Film, has announced its 2018 season, according to Variety. The season will include new musicals by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, the duo behind Spring Awakening, as well as Jason Robert Brown.

Award winning writer Geoffrey Nauffts will workshop his new musical at Texas State University as part of The Harrison/Bowman New Works Commission, funded in part by The Stillwater Foundation. Switched is a new musical with book by Geoffrey Nauffts and music and lyrics by Jonatha Brooke. The workshop will be directed by Tony nominated director Sheryl Kaller.
