Focusing on the best and brightest in emerging playwrighting talent, Soho Theatre's Soho Six attachment programme develops and nurtures playwrights' artistic practice as they write a new play for Soho's stages.

Emerging  playwright Roxy Cook was announced today as the winner of the 2023 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award for her first play A Woman Walks Into a Bank. Roxy accepted the Award from Erica Whyman, Chair of the Award Judging Panel at an event taking place in the shell of the 503Studio at Nine Elms, which will become a world-class centre for debut playwrights.

Five outstanding new writers from the UK, US and Eastern Europe are the finalists for the 2023 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award. Olga Braga, Georgia Bruce, Roxy Cook, Charlotte Cromie, and Nia Akilah Robinson's plays were chosen from 1,466 scripts sent in from 49 countries.

The critically-acclaimed, award-winning drama became an international sensation in its first season, with its shocking yet artfully-choreographed action scenes and stunt work. Following the premiere, one episode of the eight-part season will debut Thursdays on AMC+, AMC Networks’ premium streaming bundle.

Hampstead Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of Florian Zeller's new play, The Forest. Running from 5 February until 12 March 2022, The Forest is translated by Zeller's long-time collaborator Christopher Hampton, and directed by Jonathan Kent, who re-unites with Zeller after his critically acclaimed production of The Height of the Storm.

Rehearsal images have been released for Hampstead Theatre’s production of Alan Plater’s Peggy For You, directed by Richard Wilson and starring Tamsin Greig in the title role, from 10 December until 29 January 2022.  

The Almeida Theatre announces a new season for spring 2022! New dates for both “Daddy” by Jeremy O. Harris and The House of Shades by Beth Steel have been announced, following the postponement of their initial runs at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mooncake by Nicola T. Chang and Isabella Leung, is available from 22 July, FOUND by Abi Zakarian, is released 5 August, and Rime of the Second Sister by Ava Wong Davies, is released 19 August.

45North today announced virtual listening parties for the world première of Dessa’s new audio play On the Line. Attendees will have the opportunity to access the first listen to the new piece, an exclusive Q&A with Dessa and the creative team, and will receive signature cocktail recipes to try out at home.

Shows will include and breathe..., Hymn, Once Upon a Time in Nazi Occupied Tunisia, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Spring Awakening, and The Key Workers Cycle.

Daniel Ward has been announced as the winner of the 51st George Devine Award for his debut play The Canary and the Crow, picking up a prize of £15,000. The Canary and the Crow is the coming of age story of a working-class black kid accepted to a prestigious grammar school.
