EDINBURGH 2026 Review: ALREADY HERE, Gilded Balloon Patter House
by Cindy Marcolina - Aug 7, 2026
SJ Hodges writes and stars in a very unchallenging take on AI, intimacy, and grief, introducing a woman who believes in love in spite of her tragic history. Susan hides behind a caustic facade. She’s sarcastic and snappy, direct and sensitive. Hodges is romantic and sentimental in her script, taking a practical yet poetic look at relationships. She has Susan continuously reining in Theo (Ramon De Ocampo) and his flourishing declaration of lusty affection, rebutting his aphoristic turns of phrase with crisp wit and therapy speak. Casey Stangl directs with an apt multimedia vision.

Review: THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN at THE ALLEY THEATRE
by Brett Cullum - Aug 1, 2026
This company is having a great time with a thriller, and it shows. I always feel like the “Summer Chills” is when these actors get to play!

Interview: Klara Zieglerova of THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN at ALLEY THEATRE
by Brett Cullum - Jul 21, 2026
It's a murder mystery. It's a thriller. It's a modern thriller. The main character, Rachel, is sort of an unreliable narrator. She has a history of substance abuse, and she's kind of trying to figure out what happened, what she witnessed on a train
