The Marsh Berkeley presents Josh Kornbluth’s engaging and enlightening autobiographical monologue Citizen Brain, told in Kornbluth’s inimitable humorous, intelligent, and forthright style. Inspired to provide a helping hand, Kornbluth began to immerse himself in the study of brain disease at the Global Brain Health Institute.

Next up at Antaeus Theatre Company, Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information opening March 3, 2023 (with previews beginning February 26th). Emily Chase directs the eight-member cast of: — John Apicella, Anne Gee Byrd, Darius De L Cruz, Kwana Martinez, Kevin Matsumoto, Erin Pineda, Lloyd Roberson II and Zoe Yale. Emily was most gracious to give me some behind-the-scenes of Love and Information and some of the rational driving her creative decisions.

On Sunday, February 5th, Play-PerView will present a LIVE reading of “The Medievalists,” a new play on olde themes, by Bill Corbett (“Mystery Science Theater 3000”) and directed by Casey Stangl.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) announced the results of its 2022 Executive Board election at its Annual Membership Meeting on Monday night, November 14. Evan Yionoulis was elected to serve a second term as Executive Board President.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), has announced that the Breakout Award will be awarded to Jon Rua. The SDCF Awards, which will feature the presentation of the Breakout Award along with the previously announced Gordon Davidson Award and Zelda  Fichandler Award, will be hosted by Anne Kauffman virtually on Monday January 24, 2022 at 8pm ET. 

Play-PerView announced today that actress, writer and comedienne Jamie Denbo (“Ronna & Beverly”) has joined the upcoming LIVE reading of “Brushstroke,” a new comedy by John Ross Bowie (Four Chords and a Gun) and directed by Casey Stangl. Ms. Denbo replaces the previously announced Brian Huskey and will share the stage with Malcolm Barrett ('Timeless'), John Ross Bowie ('The Big Bang Theory'), Ana Ortiz ('Ugly Betty'), and James Urbaniak ('The Venture Brothers').

Play-PerView is heading to the west coast for its next two Live and Live-Streamed Theatrical Events. On Monday December 20, Play-PerView will present a LIVE reading of _“Brushstroke,” a new comedy by John Ross Bowie (Four Chords and a Gun_) and directed by Casey Stangl.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), the theatrical union that unites, empowers, and protects professional stage directors and choreographers throughout the United States, announced the results of its 2021 Executive Board election at its Annual Membership Meeting on November 15, 2021. 

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced the recipient and three finalists for its annual Zelda Fichandler Award. The Fichandler Award recognizes directors and choreographers who have demonstrated great accomplishment to date with singular creativity and deep investment in a particular community or region.

Play-PerView will present a replay of their March 2021 Zoom reunion of the USA comedy series “Playing House” with series stars and co-creators Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair in Playdate: “A Playing House” Reunion. Joined by cast members Brad Morris (“Great News”) Lindsay Sloane (“The Odd Couple”) and Zach Woods (“Silicon Valley”).

Audiences need each other as much as the performers need audiences; in the aisles we feed off each other's energy, helping each other get the jokes, experience the pathos, and admire the performances. Steel Magnolias, is an excellent way to make our return, with plenty of jokes, plenty of pathos, and plenty of opportunities for actors to shine. Baltimore's Everyman Theatre's lovely production makes the most of these assets.

Everyman Theatre is celebrateing the return to live theatre with the first offering in its 2021/2022 season with the iconic family favorite from stage and screen, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling. The production at Everyman is directed by Casey Stangl and runs from August 10 through September 5.

After delivering on the promise of rehearsing, filming, and streaming the first two production of the season, Queens Girl: Black in the Green Mountains and Cry It Out, the staff and artists at Everyman look ahead to four additional filmed and streamed mainstage productions, a spring fundraiser, and a summer play reading series. Everyman Theatre Founder and Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi and Managing Director Marissa LaRose also announced today that Everyman Theatre plans to return for in-person performances this summer with Steel Magnolias.
