Flint Repertory Theatre is presenting Songs for a New World by Jason Robert Brown starring Broadway’s Bonnie Milligan, Emily Padgett, Cory Shorter, and Josh Young. The outdoor concert is taking place July 23rd and July 24th. BWW Detroit had a chance to speak with Director Bill Fennelly and Milligan about it and the importance of live theatre.

Each year, the People's Light holiday panto transforms a beloved children's story into a musical extravaganza filled with outrageous characters, toe-tapping original music, slapstick comedy, and topical humor for both kids and adults. Sometimes a peek behind the proverbial curtain can be a thrilling affair. Whether it is a look at the inner workings of a complicated machine or a sneak peek a?oebehind the scenesa?? of the latest summer blockbuster, people have been fascinated with understanding what it takes to a?oemake the sausagea?? for years. And sometimes, that insight can be hilarious. In Becky Mode's FULLY COMMITTED, the latest play from TheaterWorks in Hartford, audiences get to witness a day in the life of Manhattan's #1 restaurant told through the eyes of Sam, an out-of-work actor who answers the reservation line (and does whatever else the egotistical chef demands.) The twist? All 33 characters in the play are played by one actor (Jamison Stern) in a hilarious, tour-de-force performance that thrills and delights.

Audience favorite Jamison Stern, (GEORGIA MCBRIDE's Miss Tracy Mills) returns as Sam an out of work actor manning the reservation line in New York's hottest restaurant. Bill Fennelly, returns home to Hartford to make his directorial debut at TheaterWorks. FULLY COMMITTED runs August 1 through September 1 and is the 5th and final show of the 20182019 Season. The first photos are in! Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, the Skivvies duo, are currently starring in Cincinnati Playhouse's production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. The production is directed by Bill Fennelly, who directed Little Shop of Horrors. Along with Michael Holland, music director/new instrumental and vocal arranger, Fennelly and the company worked together in a collaborative and communal way, designing orchestrations with offbeat instruments like kazoos, slide whistles and washboards, along with the traditional guitar, piano and accordion.

The beloved Peanuts gang comes to life onstage in the Marx Theatre beginning April 20 in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, a whimsical and witty musical reimagined for the stage with the actors playing their own instruments. The production runs through May 18. Opening night is April 25.

Midnight Theatricals has annouced an updated performance schedule and released a new trailer for WE ARE THE TIGERS, the original pop/rock musical and teen horror comedy written & composed by Preston Max Allen and produced by S. Asher Gelman, that will open Off-Broadway at Theater 80 (80 St. Mark's Place) tonight at 8:00PM Michael Bello directs the pitch-black comedy about a dismally low-ranking team of cheerleaders trying to survive the night while being terrorized by a serial killer.
