What did our critic think of JEKYLL & HYDE at Roxy's Downtown? Join Roxy’s for an ambitious and stunning production of Jekyll & Hyde. A dazzling cast of singer/actors, a layered and luxurious ten-piece orchestra, and a cat walk thrusting the action into the audience’s lap, the mood is set, and a dark tale of polarities unfolds, lovingly directed by Rick Bumgardner and Jackson Dorris.
Roxy’s Downtown is thrilled to present the musical sensation Jekyll & Hyde, opening on Thursday, February 22. This timeless tale about the struggle between good and evil blends the classic novella by Robert Louis Stevenson with a mesmerizing score by multi-Grammy- and Tony-nominated Frank Wildhorn and double-Oscar- and Grammy-winning Leslie Bricusse.

What did our critic think of ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW at Crown Arts Collaborative?
What did our critic think of THE GOLDEN GIRLS : A PARODY at Roxy's Downtown?
I saw this show last night and it was brilliant! It's going to sell out quickly, so please get your tickets ASAP! My review is forthcoming.
From the creative minds of the Mischief Theatre Company, this Tony winning farce portrays the doomed opening night of THE MURDER AT HAVERSHAM MANOR. The play won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Award.
The Wedding Singer made its Regional Debut at the Crown Uptown in July. It’s super fun, high energy musical based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, with music by Matthew Sklar (Elf, The Prom), book by Chad Beguelin (Aladdin, Elf, The Prom) and Tim Herlihy (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore), and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. The Wedding Singer's score is rife with 80’s pop references, which made me ponder the question, “From which actual hits were the show’s songs derived?”
RUN RIGHT DOWN TO SEE THIS SHOW RIGHT NOW! To quote my students, “This show is ridiculous, and we laughed so hard.” Like a farce on speed, DISASTER! is like riding a freight train over rough terrain, hanging on for dear life until the engineer finally puts on the brakes. This show is so nutritionally dense, you will want to consume it more than once. No laugh is unmined here. Every beat is crammed with hilarity. If you don’t laugh when you see this show, you need to have your humorous attended to.
'Forbidden' is certainly a fitting adjective for Roxy's Downtown current production entitled Forbidden Broadway. If you simply look up the word 'forbidden' in the dictionary, you will find its meaning to be prohibited, not allowed or even banned. It's a clever little title to describe this Off-Broadway parody rated PG-13 which spoofs many lyrics and shows such as Mamma Mia, Cats, and even Hairspray which would send original playwrights and performing artists rolling in their graves with laughter. Opening originally in 1982 by parodist Gerard Alessandrini, the show has gone under many revisions to include even newer musicals. Starring Julia Faust, John Keckeisen, Seth Knowles, Shaun-Michael Morse, Patty Reeder, and Christine Tasheff, Forbidden Broadway runs from now until August 24 at the 1930s cabaret venue in downtown Wichita.
