Andrew John Mitchell Biography

Andrew John Mitchell: Previously directed MST’s Ira Levin’s DEATHTRAP, GOD OF CARNAGE, and FARRAGUT NORTH, along with a few works the EMERGING ARTIST(S) series. Andrew has previously directed for the Chapel Street Players, Philadelphia Dramatist Center and E-52 Student Theatre. Andrew is the 2011 DTA and ESTA Outstanding Direction award winner for Edward Albee’s ZOO STORY, which was presented and competed at the 2011 AACT National Competition, winning Best Actor. Andrew is the Marketing and Development Coordinator for the Milburn Stone Theatre and works in Event Management at the University of Delaware. Upcoming directorial projects include: Tom Stoppard’s ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, April 13-14 at Elkton Station

The Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College is ready to present the longest running American show on Broadway, Chicago, for the first time in its twenty-eight-year history. Chicago was originally written as a play in 1926 by Chicago tribune courthouse reporter, Maurine Dallas Watkins. Chicago was famously turned into a Broadway musical by John Kander and Fred Ebb and directed and choregraphed by Bob Fosse. Chicago was the winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The 2002 film adaptation went on to win six academy awards including “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Picture.”
