John Powell Scoring WICKED Movie With Stephen Schwartz

It has been confirmed that composer John Powell will be co-writing the musical score for the highly anticipated Wicked movie. The underscoring will serve as the soundtrack in addition to Stephen Schwartz's songs. Powell has previously scored numerous projects, including Solo: A Star Wars Story, the Bourne films, Don't Worry Darling, and the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

WICKED Movie to Be Released in Theaters Early

Universal has announced that Wicked, the highly anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway musical, will now be released in theaters on November 22, 2024. This is 5 days earlier than the previous release date of November 27.

Video: LEGO Teases New Sets Inspired by the WICKED Movie

In October, LEGO Group will introduce four sets inspired by the first film that will allow fans to delve deeper into some of the most iconic scenes straight out of Oz and explore core themes, characters, and songs from the upcoming film. On the official LEGO X/Twitter page, the fan-favorite building block toy company teased the new line of products. In the 15-second video, pink, white, and green LEGO pieces spill out the words 'Pink clicks good with green,' with background music playing the song Popular, sung by Glinda in the musical. Second WICKED Movie Will Include Two New Songs

Stephen Schwartz has revealed that the second Wicked movie will include two new songs. The Tony-winning composer revealed that the second part of the film, slated for release in November 2025, will include two original songs not heard in the stage musical. He also revealed that 'there are some expansions of stuff in the first movie.'

Jonathan Bailey Filmed the WICKED Movie With Body Doubles During the SAG-AFTRA Strike Due to His Equity Contract

While other actors in the film, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, were unable to film the Wicked movie during the SAG-AFTRA strike, Jonathan Bailey's Equity contract allowed him to continue filming the movie as Fiyero with body doubles standing in place for other characters.

Ariana Grande has revealed a new tattoo inspired by a song from Wicked in her latest Instagram post. The new photo comes after Grande also revealed that she had gotten the original illustration of Glinda from L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz books inked on the back of her hand.
