BIO

John Glover began his television career with a role on Search for Tomorrow and made one of his early film appearances in White Nights (1985). His film credits include 52 Pick-Up (1986), Scrooged (1988), Masquerade (1988), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), RoboCop 2 (1990), Night of the Running Man (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), and Payback (1999). He also appeared in Annie Hall (1977).


On television, Glover appeared in An Early Frost (1985), earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and Apology (1986). His credits also include Miami Vice (1987), Murder, She Wrote, Twist of Fate (1989), Traveling Man (1989), The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Brimstone, Frasier, Heroes, Brothers & Sisters, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Agent Carter, and The Blacklist. He voiced the Riddler in Batman: The Animated Series and portrayed Lionel Luthor on Smallville from 2001 to 2008, returning for the series' final season in 2010–2011.

On stage, Glover won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for Love! Valour! Compassion!, later reprising his role in the film adaptation. His Broadway credits also include The Drowsy Chaperone (2007), Waiting for Godot, which earned him a Tony Award nomination, Death of a Salesman (2012), and Much Ado About Nothing (2014). He also appeared in Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? (2004) and The Atmosphere of Memory (2011).

In addition to his screen and stage work, Glover performed in the Peabody Award-winning radio adaptation of The Odyssey of Homer, appeared in productions for LA Theatre Works, narrated audiobooks including Ghost Story (2011), voiced characters in Tron: Evolution (2010) and Tron: Uprising (2012), and starred in the horror anthology film Sanitarium (2013).
