BWW Review: TAPE Traps Audiences at Theater On The Edge
by Kelli McGurk - March 07, 2017
Stephen Belber's dark comedy Tape takes over the small black box studio at Theater on the Edge, and not only invites the audience to become a part of the story, but demands it. By trapping viewers in the four walls of the Motel 6 room in Lansing, Michigan, spectators have no choice but to become one with the characters, and internalize their confusion, anger, humor, and acceptance (or lack thereof).

BWW Review: The Studio Theatre's LAST FIVE YEARS Brings the Emotion
by Libby Champion - March 07, 2017
Joy. Pride. Jealousy. Sadness. Pain. These words and so much more describe the relationship between THE LAST FIVE YEARS' Jamie, an up-and-coming successful novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress, as they navigate the story of falling in love, getting married, and then drifting apart. Jason Robert Brown's quintessential love-gone-wrong tale is performed wonderfully by Brian Zealand and Whitney Morse at the Village's Studio Theatre at Tierra Del Sol. The telling of this musical is interesting in own right - Cathy tells the story from the end of their relationship, when she discovers that Jamie wants a divorce, while Jamie starts from the beginning when he meets Cathy and falls head over heels.

BWW Blog: Clarissa Moon - Talking to the Stars of CONSTELLATIONS at Mad Cow
by Guest Blogger: Clarissa Moon - March 01, 2017
CONSTELLATIONS, currently playing at the Mad Cow Theatre, is a beautiful love story that takes place across many parallel universes. The show follows the relationship between Marianne, an astrophysicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, from their first meeting to their engagement and onward, branching out into many possible outcomes. I had the chance to interview real-life couple Gemma and Brett Waldon about the challenges of the show, performing with your spouse, and more!
BWW Review: CONSTELLATIONS at Mad Cow Theatre
by Geoffrey Lawrence - March 01, 2017
One of the beautiful things about theatre is requires varying levels of involvement. Some shows allow you to sit back and be an inactive participant, while others require you to give up control and just watch a story unfold in front of your eyes. Constellations, by Nick Payne, is the type of play where you must be willing to be invested. It also requires you be willing to take a hard look at the choices you make in your own life.
