Handel's Messiah Rocks was honored with two Emmy Awards Saturday night by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The groundbreaking musical event that blends classical music with classic rock and breathes new life into George Fredrick Handel's most performed oratorio launched its Inaugural National Tour in Orange, Texas Sunday and is traveling across the country this holiday season playing cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and Cleveland. The creators of Handel's Messiah Rocks, Dani Davis and Jason Howland, were awarded the Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence Off Camera for a Music Composition/Arrangement.

Additionally, LaChanze, who originated the role of The Woman in Handel's Messiah Rocks, was awarded Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence On Camera: Programming - Performer.

Handel's Messiah Rocks was adapted by Jason Howland and libretto adapted by Dani Davis and is based on the original oratorio by George Frederick Handel with libretto by Charles Jennens. It is produced by NETworks Presentations, LLC and directed by Dani Davis.
