Gaston is a very wealthy bon vivant playboy in 1901 Belle Epoque Paris. Gigi, a bright appealing teen, is being raised in humble circumstances by her loving grandmother, while her mother works in the Opera Comique. The grandmother’s sister, formerly a courtesan with a string of wealthy lovers in her past, gives Gigi lessons, preparing to launch her into the "family business." Despite his wealth, Gaston is only truly happy spending time with Gigi and her Grandmother. As Gaston has just broken off with his latest mistress, the Aunt and Grandmother seize upon the opportunity to set Gigi up into a formal liaison with him. As Gigi blossoms into a beautiful young woman, both she and Gaston confront the reality of their feelings for each other. "Gigi" is scandalous and sweet, a romantic story of love, and a look at the business realities of life.
