Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive Begins at Stages Theatre Company 11/19-12/12

By: Nov. 10, 2010

In an effort to make a child's holiday season a little brighter, Stages Theatre Company (STC) is hosting the annual Toys for Tots toy drive at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. The toy drive begins Friday, Nov. 19 and ends Sunday, Dec. 12, and coincides with the holiday production, "Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells."

People visiting the Hopkins Center for the Arts can expect to see a Toys for Tots box in the main lobby. Any individual dropping off a new and unwrapped toy in the box is eligible to win a gift bag. People interested in the raffle can sign up during box office hours, Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to all performances outside box office hours. The winner will be chosen Monday, Dec. 13. Age recommendations for toys are ages 0 through 16, with the most need for ages 0-3 (boys and girls) and 16 (girls).

"What an honor it is to collaborate with Toys for Tots and the many youth-serving agencies that help bring a smile to kids in need this holiday season. I know that everyone who supports Stages Theatre Company will embrace the chance to help us help others with this toy drive," says Artistic Director Sandy Boren-Barrett.

Stages Theatre Company was founded in 1984 and since then has grown to become one of the largest professional theatres for young audiences in the country. We engage young artists with themes relevant to their lives and involve them in creating magical works featuring young people in meaningful roles. Through theatrical productions, workshops, conservatory classes and other outreach programs, Stages Theatre Company annually serves more than 128,000 young people and their families.
