The Play'N Around Theatre Company will perform Hansel and Gretel at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa, on Sun., March 6 at 3 p.m.
This modified version of the classic story, adapted by Play'N Around, follows Hansel and Gretel on a journey through the woods to "Oggy" The Ogre's House and is accompanied by original music, dancing and audience participation. Play'N Around's Hansel and Gretel will teach young audiences that "you can't always judge a book by its cover."
Play'N Around is a professional theater company that tours live educational musical productions to theatres, schools, libraries and special events introducing young audiences to the performing arts through professional, full-staged productions that appeal to children, parents and educators while teaching morals and values.
Hansel and Gretel is part of the 2010-11 Play'N Around season at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Previous performances included Little Red Riding Hood, Bullyproof: The Musical and The Nutcracker. The season will conclude with the original production of Going Green: The Musical in April.
Tickets for Hansel and Gretel are $7 for members, $10 for non-members and free for children under the age of 4. Tickets may be purchased at the Center, online at CarrollwoodCenter.org, or by calling (813) 269-1310.
