In the Mood Comes To The Van Wezel 4/2

By: Mar. 23, 2010

In the Mood, a 1940's musical revue will be presented at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Fri., April 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 - $45 (with a limited number of "smart seats" priced at $10).
Much more than a concert, In The Mood takes a retro look at the life and time of America's greatest generation-a generation that was listening and dancing to the same kind of music. With music and dance that combined up-tempo big band rhythms to mellow intimate ballads, the mood was set to inspire a future with hope, promise and prosperity. This was a time like no other in our nation's history, a time when music moved the nation's spirit.

In The Mood conceived by Washington, DC's musical producer Bud Forrest features the In The Mood Singers and Dancers with authentic arrangements, costumes and choreography and the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra. Through its musical influence, In The Mood became part of the official entertainment for the World USO's 50th commemoration of the WW II events. It has performed and toured all over the U.S.A., Canada and Europe and also for one of the second Clinton Presidential Inaugural Balls.

Mr. Carl "Moose" Muscarello who resides in Plantation, Florida, is the World War II Navy veteran who claims to be the original Kissing Sailor. He will be available after the performance to sign pictures of the "Unconditional Surrender" statue.
