Shostakovich 50 at Palacio de Bellas Artes

The Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional commemorates the 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich's passing with a special program featuring guest violinist William Harvey. Under the baton of Ludwig Carrasco, the concert opens with Paulino Paredes Pérez's Espalda mojada, a work addressing the social issues faced by undocumented migrants. The performance also includes the Mexican premiere of Behzad Ranjbaran's Violin Concerto, concluding with Shostakovich's First Symphony, a pivotal piece from his early career.
