The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village are holding their third (3rd) annual Short Scene Festival entitled --- 'SCENES FROM THE ZONE". They are coming off their successful spring staging of "Wonder of the World" and also recently opened their Drama School --- Minstrel Academy, which provides Drama classes and workshops for both children and adults. Performances of 'SCENES FROM THE ZONE' will be one weekend only on Saturday, July 26th at 8 P.M and a 3 P.M. matinee performance on Sunday, July 27th at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village.

During that time, students receive training from industry professionals while being surrounded by peers who share the same passion and skill set. Students will have the opportunity to work with a Broadway guest artist, discuss resume building, and learn audition techniques.

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is thrilled to announce its July "Finest in World Cinema" Series! Back by popular demand, Andrew Botsford of Quogue, visiting professor and communications consultant for the graduate arts program at Stony Brook Southampton and co-host of the annual Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival, will introduce our summer films each Tuesday night and discuss the films afterwards with guest commentators, followed by an informal audience discussion. An actor with the Hampton Theatre Company in Quogue since 1985, Andrew has written extensively about film and theater and was for 20 years the associate editor of The Southampton Press and editor of its Arts & Living section.

Calling all young actors and actresses! WHBPAC's Arts Education Program is looking for youngsters, ages 6* - 16, to participate in its week-long summer Musical Theatre Camp, The Secret Garden. Campers will rehearse from Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18 culminating in a public performance on Friday night. The fee for the camp is $450.

McNeill Art Group will launch a summer exhibition space in Southampton at the Hill Street Gallery. Join us on Saturday June 21st, from 5-8 for the opening reception of Stained with Sweet. The exhibition will feature oil paintings by Perry Burns, neon sculpture and photography by Tapp Francke, abstract and figurative paintings, concrete sculpture and design by Jeff Muhs and textured colored salt paintings by Bettina Werner. The works in the exhibition all embody an inherent beauty, delivering a taste of the sublime pleasure we feel when surrounded with artistry and elegance.

If you want a high-energy show, Smokey Joe's Café is definitely for you. The musical revue, on Broadway from 1995-2000, highlights the music of songwriting team Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The spectacle has forty of their hit songs done back to back including 'Love Potion Number 9', 'Yakity Yak', 'Stand By Me' and 'Jailhouse Rock'. Believe me when I say that you will be dancing in your seat at some point.

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts present a FREE concert featuring THE ATLANTIC COMMUNITY BAND. They will be performing Sousa Marches, parade favorites, and Broadway show-tunes in the front of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts before, during, and after the July 4th parade beginning at 9:30 AM. John Philip Sousa was an American composer and conductor known particularly for American military and patriotic marches such as 'The Stars and Stripes Forever.' Sousa played right here at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in 1923 and 1924.
