Lyric Opera of Kansas City Announces Retirement of Director Evan Luskin

Richard Bruening, president of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, announced today that Evan Luskin, the Company's general director since 1998, will be retiring on June 30, 2012. Mr. Luskin's retirement will come at the conclusion of the Lyric's first year of residence in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, which will open this fall.

Chip's Chocolate Factory Signs On for 7 More Years at Crown Center

Chip's Chocolate Factory, one of the most longstanding and visited shops at Crown Center, has signed a deal to remain at the shopping center for the next seven years. Mike Herman owns the store on Level 2 of the Crown Center Shops. It originated at Crown Center as Kansas City Fudge in 1983 and is well known for its marble tables, copper kettles and daily fudge-making displays. The store is scheduled to get some national attention later this month, when it's featured on Food Network's 'Kid in a Candy Store' program.
