The Mississippi Museum of Art will present Jamal Cyrus: The End of My Beginning, the first museum survey of celebrated Houston-born artist Jamal Cyrus (b.1973). On view from October 29, 2022 - March 3, 2023, the exhibition spans 15 formative years of Cyrus's multidisciplinary practice from 2005 to 2020.

Explore the wonderful world of musical theatre during this two-week full day camp for 5th - 12th grade graduates. (Entering 5th grade 2022). ​Campers will be divided into age groups and rotate through fun and exciting performing arts classes and activities daily!

On April 9, the Mississippi Museum of Art (MMA) opened A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration, which explores the profound impact of the Great Migration on the social and cultural life of the United States from historical and personal perspectives.

A Tribute to Toronto, 2022, Judy Chicago’s latest site-specific pyrotechnic display, will take place on June 4, 2022 at Sugar Beach on Toronto’s waterfront as the grand finale celebrating the conclusion of the second edition of the Toronto Biennial of Art (the Biennial/TBA).

In the next couple months, Laurel Little Theatre will be announcing its 62nd season opener and audition dates after we get our four shows selected. Current plans are to audition in May or June and present the show in late summer.

The Candy Man came to Jackson on Sunday, March 13th, and brought a world of pure imagination with him. As part of Broadway in Jackson’s 2021-2022 season, presented by Trustmark, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s North American tour stopped at Thalia Mara Hall for one night only.

French-Algerian acoustic guitar virtuoso, vocalist and composer Pierre Bensusan is excited to once again tour North America. In early 2020, Bensusan began his USA tour in North Carolina, but unfortunately a fledgling pandemic cut his North American tour shot.

 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival today announced that American artist Tyler Mitchell (b. 1995) will be featured in a multi-faceted exhibition titled Cultural Turns that will include work on view at the CONTACT Gallery May 1 – June 30, 2022, as well as outdoor public installations at Toronto’s Metro Hall and on two downtown billboards.

Laurel Little Theatre has announced auditions for Matilda The Musical. The Kids’ Camp is for students entering 1st thru 10th grade in fall 2022. Director Lacy Cockrell and Musical Director Shane Cockrell will lead a cast of 100 kids for a full week of afternoon rehearsals and workshops that begin May 26, 2022 and ends with performances the first weekend of June.

By stimulating observation, recall, and response, this program helps participants manage their stress or anxiety, cope with change, and gain personal insight.
