JUNIE B JONES Opens At Theater For Young Audiences 4/21

Theatre at the Center's Theatre for Young Audiences, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana, announces their upcoming production of the energetic and hilarious children's' favorite, Junie B. Jones. This exciting, fun and educational production will open April 21 and run through April 25. This new musical is based on four volumes in Barbara Park's Junie B. Jones series of books, illustrated by Denise Brunkus and published by Random House.
South African And IU Students Perform THE TEMPEST At Lee Norvelle Theater 5/6-9

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis will produce the world premiere of Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley?s The Zippers of Zoomerville, or 200 Laps and a Lass: a mini-mockeretta in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix May 7 through June 6, 2009. The book and lyrics are by Jack O?Hara, and the music is by Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley. Jack O'Hara is a Nashville (IN) based writer, musician, comedian, actor, and director. In The Zippers of Zoomerville he has written a gentle send-up of all things Indy 500 -- but also a gentle send-up of all things Gilbert & Sullivan.

Indiana University Associate Professor Osamu James Nakagawa was confirmed as a Guggenheim Fellow last week. Fellows were announced Tuesday, April 7. This marks the 85th year for the annual competition, established to honor 'stellar achievement and exceptional promise for continued accomplishment' to add to the 'educational, literary, artistic and scientific power of this country, and also to provide for the cause of better international understanding,' according to the organization's mission statement.
