Smetana: Overture to The Bartered Bride
Hussain: Peshkar, concerto for tabla and orchestra (World Premiere, SOI commission)
Bartok: Concerto for Orchestra

The opening concert of the Symphony Orchestra of Indias Autumn 2015 season will feature the world premiere of the SOI's first commission. Peshkar, a concerto for tabla and orchestra, has been written specially for the SOI by legendary tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, who will perform the piece with the orchestra. The programme, led by Associate Music Director Zane Dalal, also includes Smetanas overture to The Bartered Bride and Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra.
