Theatre Southwest is proud to open its 69th season on September 12 with Arthur Miller's intense and relevant drama Incident at Vichy, directed by John Patterson and produced in collaboration with the Holocaust Museum Houston. In a quiet detention room in Vichy, France, nine men wait, unsure why they’ve been taken, what’s coming next, and who will be spared. As questions swirl and suspicions rise, a chilling truth begins to emerge: the arrests are not random. Arthur Miller’s Incident at Vichy is a tense, thought-provoking one-act play that explores complicity, conscience, and the terrifying consequences of silence. Set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied France, this searing drama confronts how ordinary people respond when their values and even their lives are on the line. This timely revival challenges audiences to reflect on moral courage, social responsibility, and the price of inaction. Gripping and unsettling, Incident at Vichy speaks as powerfully today as it did at its premiere. Step into the interrogation room. The questions are as urgent as ever. All ticket buyers for Incident at Vichy will also receive free admission to the Holocaust Museum Houston. Incident at Vichy runs September 12-27, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm., and Sundays September 14 and 21, at 3 pm.
Theatre Southwest is at 3939 Hillcroft, Suite 160, Houston, TX.
