End Of The 2019/2020 Season Cancelled At The Bayerische Staatsoper

By order of the Bavarian Ministry of Science and Art, the 2020 Munich Opera Festival will not be able to take place. Likewise, all remaining performances will be cancelled until the end of June 2020, thus ending the 2019/20 season of the Bayerische Staatsoper.
Dresden Music Festival 2020 Canceled, Streaming Program to be Announced

It is with great regret that the Dresden Music Festival announced the 2020 festival cannot take place as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. According to the decision of the German Federal Government and the state governments of 15 April 2020, events may not take place until 31 August 2020.

With 689,361 guests and ticket sales totalling a??38.8 million, the VIVID Grand Show is the Palast's most successful production since 1945. In light of the theatre's state-ordered closure until 19 April and the general uncertainty about the time thereafter, the runtime of the current Grand Show is to be extended until summer 2021.

Natalya Pavlova as Violetta, together with her Alfredo and Giorgio Germont (Ivan Magri, and Giuseppe Altomare, respectively) battle mightily against the inanity of Nicola Raab's direction, unfortunately, to no avail. One must say, that Ms. Raab has achieved what I thought was nearly impossible -- she has drained the passion, drama, and romance out of Verdi's heretofore 'indestructible' masterpiece, and turned it into a lifeless, bloodless exercise in tedium.

Shermin Langhoff Will Extend Her Term As Artistic Director of the Maxim Gorki Theatre Until Summer 2023

Shermin Langhoff will continue to serve as artistic director of the Maxim Gorki Theatre until the end of the 2022/2023 season. In 2013 Langhoff was appointed to the Gorki for five years. In 2016 her contract was extended early, by mutual agreement, to 2021, with an option for two more years a?" which Berlin Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer and Langhoff have now agreed upon.

Stage Entertainment Will End Operations At Mentronome Theatre After DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES

It has been reported that Stage Entertainment will cease operations at the Metronom Theater in Oberhausen next year. The company announced on Tuesday. After 15 years and twelve productions, all performances at the space will end after 'Dance of the Vampires' in March 2020.
