Think modern circus meets Mumford & Sons/Williamsburg, complete with wooden props and hoops made directly from resources available at the forests and farms surrounding their hometown. Their costumes are flannel shirts and lumberjack boots. They juggle with axes while playing guitar! TIMBER! runs October 13-19 at NYU Skirball (566 LaGuardia Place). THE BIRDS & THE BEES: UNABRIDGED explores the unique -- yet interwoven -- life circumstances of eight women & trans people forced to confront their own sexuality, realizing that sexuality itself is not simple or clear-cut. Through dialogue, movement, song, humor, and multimedia, the performance examines such themes as partner communication, sexual identity, the de-sexualization of aging women, today's 'hook-up' culture, and sexual health.

The free mixer was a lovely time to mingle with local theatre women, over wine and cheese, and learn about LPTW, followed by a 50% discount to to the world premiere of The Forgetting Curve, a new play by Vanda, directed by Kimberly Loren Eaton, presented by Bridge Rep of Boston and Theatrum Mundi Productions.

That in itself is a huge accomplishment, but the Friars do so much more than entertain themselves and enjoy their camaraderie. The Friars Club's Sunshine Committee (Tom DeBow chairman) is to the Friars Club what Ronald McDonald House is to McDonald's-they bring a ray of sunshine to those who need it most!

(07/28/2014) - Since the inception of The Three Tenors on July 7, 1990 in Rome at the Baths of Caracalla on the eve of the FIFA World Cup Final, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and the one and only Luciano Pavarotti; have opened the doors for other great voices, such as the Irish Tenors, The Canadian Tenors and many other talented and renowned performers. Now three of New York's premier voices, Andy Cooney, Daniel Rodriguez and Christopher Macchio have joined together as The New Yorkers to honor the city of New York and our great nation. On Friday July 25, 2014 they brought their debut show to E.W. Allen Park in Farmingdale for The Town Of Oyster Bay's 2014 Music Under The Stars series joined by special guests Comedian Jim Labriola, Soprano Marla Kavanaugh and Ryan Cooney and Shannon Cooney, and BroadwayWorld was on hand from soundcheck to show and brings you the photo coverage below!

(07/23/2014) - On Wednesday, July 9, 2014, the Police Athletic League celebrated 100 years of PAL with the opening of the 2014 Summer Playstreets Program. Hundreds of children gathered on a PAL Playstreet at West 151st in Manhattan to play classic street games including marbles, skelly, hopscotch, traditional Double Dutch jump rope, Nok Hockey and the NYPD provided a portable rock climbing wall.
